Movement sensor
A movement sensor can start your fountain when there is some one there
to watch your fountain. Let us first explain what they do.
P.I.R. stands for passive infra red. Basically they pick up the movement of infra-red heat. By
design they are more sensitive if you walk across its field of view as
opposed to towards it. With this particular unit it has a built in timer
and day light sensor, both of which are adjustable.
We often use them as they have advantages over a timer in that they
can work for a set time only when there is some one present to view the
fountain. (This is only true if the person viewing is within the range
of the P.I.R.) this in turn saves you money in running costs.
The picture below shows a P.I.R. mounted this particular one is
operating our lions
mask water feature.
Each P.I.R. is 240 volt ac operated and is available in black or
white. It is suitable for external use.
