Dry mounting Pumps
Although most of the pumps we supply are submersible
most can also be used "dry mounted" That is to say they can be mounted
outside the pool, by suitable pipe work. (not supplied)
This makes for easier servicing of the pump and flow
control can be adjusted without getting wet. How ever in order to do this
you do need two pipes, one an inlet pipe from the pool fitted with
suitable strainer (we can supply these) the other runs to the nozzle.
But, in order to do this the pumps must be lower
than the water level of the pool at all times.
With some pumps It is possible to use a
foot valve and strainer but over time these have been known to collect small particles
of dirt which stop the valve from working as it should (when used in open
air lakes / fountains) so we do not recommend their use in pools and
fountains
There is the problem of priming the pump,
unfortunately all the pumps we supply are not self priming
