Access - FAQ
As you know we use our access software to run musical
fountains this page is designed to give you more information.
What is access?
Access is specially developed software to run musical
fountains
What does it actually do?
In very basic terms it will control your fountains so
that they operate "in time" with music
How does it do it?
Access sends DMX information (That you have already set
up) to pump and light interfaces, these interfaces can dim a light(s) or
by changing the speed of a pump change the jet height, while its doing
this it is also playing the music which you have chosen.
How easy is it to install
We will send you a c.d once you have it you
load the cd, and save it to your "C" drive. it must go on the c drive
otherwise it will not work
What hardware is required?
We can supply you with almost everything that is
required (sorry we can not supply pool or water) The hardware is:
Speed variable pumps (single phase), nozzles,
lights, dimmable transformers for the lights (ours can go in the water)
Pump and light interfaces (dmx compatible), computer interface, sound
system. (We do not supply a sound system)
Sound system
Your sound system can be as powerful as you like since
it is only receiving a sound source from you pc, how ever for an all round
sound we suggest you use in ground speakers around the pool, or build
speakers into the pool wall during its construction.
How do i use it ?
Access comes set up for your particular fountain, (it is
custom written for each fountain) that is to say it is configured
for the number of pump and light channels you have. You can not change the
lay out.
Once you have it up and running you need to select the
music it is to play for each sequence, We suggest you keep the music
in a separate folder on you p.c
Next you plug in the pc to dmx interface into com
port 1 you then plug in the mains supply to the interface you then
plug in the dmx signal cable which runs to the pump and light interfaces,
we supply the pump and light interfaces already set up for you, so all you
have to do is plug these into the mains via an rcd adaptor
You connect your sound system to your computers sound
card output.
You adjust the settings according to the music playing,
each channel has a up and down arrow, with this you select the appropriate
value (between 0 & 100 %)
You then select the next TIME it has to change, this is
typically less than 1 second but can be longer (depending on the music )
You repeat this process until it is finished, yes it can
take some time, but remember once it is set up and saved it will play the
same sequence exactly as you programmed it.
How much is it?
It really depends on how many channels it has, the more
channels it has the higher the cost, also the commercial version will
require a faster pc to dmx interface in order to cope with the additional
channels
General
The pc can be far away as you like, but its recommended
to be within viewing distance to make setting up of your fountain much
easier
To avoid complications of equipment compatibility we do
not supply access on its own
